Cort Bass Serial Numbers
Click to expand.What is the serial# of the A6? What is the Cort Guitars serial number dating system? This is a common question we see quite regularly on the forums. Cort model serial numbers are usually found on the headstock of the guitar and can often be used to identify the date of manufacture. The most common current dating system has been in place since around 2000 and is YYMMXXXX.
Ibanez guitars have used serial numbers since the mid 1970s. Which were made by Chushin Gakki (the flagship Axstar AXB1000 bass was made by FujiGen Gakki). C = manufactured by Cort Guitars in Incheon or Daejon (1991–1995).
Thus, a serial number reading 02046572 means the guitar most likely manufactured in April 2002. In early 2005 Cort serial numbers gained an extra identification digit, and so some models manufactured after this date are in the style of YYMMXXXXX. The older known dating system was implemented in the early 90s, and is YMMXXXX. If you had a serial number 7064381, then the guitar should have been made in June 1997. Please not that there are variation of this rule and the above will not hold true for all guitars. @ 4$$ Tnx man! So,my serial is 0061370,that would mean that bass is manufactured in June of 2000?
The bas is still in great shape,and I bought it here in Europe for 400eur (used of course),do you think that is fair price? And what would be class level of this bass?
(like,amateur,semi pro,pro? And similar) This pictures I've posted are about seven days old after I bought instrument (that would be February of this 2008.). I'm really happy with it,but I didn't tried other 6strings here in Serbia,except my friends JM2. I'm not thinking of changing it soon and I would be happy to join your Cort club!
